She was born in the Westman Islands, an Island on the south-west coast of Iceland on the 15th of August in 1991. She has a Bachelors degree from Royal Academy of Music in London and an Advanced Diploma from the prestigious opera course at the Royal Academy. Silja graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Opera performance in July 2021. On the operatic stage Silja has sung roles such as Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Hippolyta (A midsummer night’s dream), The third lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Czipra (Der Zigeunerbaron).
